  • they need to bring out a pokemon HD game for the wii u if they brang that out id buy the wii u with that game and the super smah bros and if they brang back some of the classics like how mario use to be n with the pokemon HD game can be a first person game instead of wat it is on the nintendo Portables Awesome, awesome article. I would bet money that you won't be able to watch/play one thing on the tablet and wii u price another on the TV though (even though that would be awesome). I think the Club Nintendo idea should certainly be implemented right off the bat.

Skype would be awesome. imagine racing against friends from around the world on the top screen, and seeing their reactions on the bottom? Yes, I know star fox already did it, but it would be far greater to see everyone's shocked faces clearer and bigger on the tablet. Nintendo needs to fix there online service and ofcourse even be more unique when doing online, maybe a creative virtual web browser world where wii u price we can look left with the controller and see youtube, look north with the controller and see facebook and look south ARG!! and see pirate bay.
A complete virtual way of surfing the internet, now is the right time Nintendo, show who is boss and runs the seven seas. okay its obvious there are not a lot of news today
but at least you are writing some interesting articles
some of this ideas are actually pretty good

Confusing as hell. Wii U will be in the same generatio wii u price as other consoles (hope they don't do 720, sounds so awkward). Generation does not equal power, but the period between a new console from one company to the next new console of the company. If Nintendo released a console right after new xbox and ps, it would be considered next gen, while ps and xbox would still be current gen You know what could be cool? If an Animal Crossing game could receive information from a weather app and change the in-game weather accordingly. So, if it's snowing where you're at, it would snow in the game, and so on. Sadly, you lost me at "Forget about games for a second". I wanted to read this article, but having a device that needs to do what my phone has been doing for years is not a priority of mine. Really.... how many devices do we need that can do this... my TV does, my phone does, my PC, does, my Blu-Ray player does... ugh.

All I want is my Ninty Games and good 3rd Party support... wii u price oh and good online gaming. KThxBye

"Forget about games for a second"!!??

Umm, that's exactly what's been WRONG with the industry mindset this console generation, IGN. If you're a gaming hobbyist you want to be able to play GREAT GAMES on your console first and foremost, and from a personal standpoint I'd be fine with ONLY that. The side-effects of consoles attaining PC-like apps and "universal entertainment device" status include the dumbing down of games into fewer genres (namely graphically intensive or sports-based) that are designed to...wait for it...be guaranteed to make the most money from being "mainstream" as opposed to allowing for the greatest creative freedom by developers.

It is mindsets like this that have begun to ruin an awesome hobby that gamers wii u price once blissfully had to ourselves, and a key reason that I may end up skipping the upcoming console generation. This industry has forgotten the game-centric, balanced formula and the fans that got them here, so I'm inclined to reciprocate.

Let's face facts: a lot of what is considered "progress" and "improvement" by one segment of consumers who buy games and consoles (newer/casual/younger, generally speaking) is considered very detrimental to what's really important to those of us who've been gaming since the hobby began (generally older gamers who value genre variety and things not necessarily pertaining to eye candy/kill counts, and above all great GAMES of high quality regardless of genre), and that rift simply cannot and will not be bridged by any immediately foreseeable business plan in current practice across the industry. Sure, things change and move on with time, but if games are no longer the primary (if not SOLE) focus of game consoles, then videogaming as a true hobby is dead and just doesn't know it yet, industry sales figures notwithstanding.

I respect this comment. I do think the generation we're in now has been the worst of any generation ever. It's done so much more harm than good. We've gotten some great games out of it, but I am not sure we've gotten anything really timeless that we'l be playing in 2o years. We've gotten stuck with online passes, crap DLC, ads in services we're already paying premiums for, nickel and dimed at every turn, insanely priced collector's editions of games no one gives a crap about, and an online community of gamers who force you to become so competitive at a game that it's no longer fun and more stressful than anything. I swear to god if I was older than 28 I'd be afraid to play a FPS for fear of a heart attack because I get so, so mad. I'm about to give them up entirely anyway, I'm so much more calm with a nice offline SP game.

Anyway, all that being said... I'm still hyped for the Wii U. I may avoid MS the next time around, though. Not sure about Sony, have to see what they'll be up to. Then again, I might just go with an MS console for the HD content as far as ESPN and other stuff that they'll hopefully continue to add. Haven't been terribly impressed with anything in their fall update, other than the interface. You should be able to somehow customize the panels though.
